It is tradition for the GROB sales team to answer the call of the trade fair every May and travel to Moscow. It is here that the XIth International Exhibition of Equipment, Machinery and Tools for the Metalworking Industry, Metalloobrabotka for short, will be held from May 24 - 28. This will be the third event in the GROB trade fair programme for 2010.

As before, GROB-WERKE is well represented at Metalloobrabotka, in Pavilion 2.2 on the Krasnaya Presnya exhibition site. Standing on a site of 26,000 m², this international exhibition for equipment, machinery and tools for the metalworking industry is the largest of its kind in all of Russia and Eastern Europe. More than 750 exhibitors from over 30 countries, including practically all the leading special machinebuilders from the West, will be present. The trade fair has grown enormously just in the last twelve years. The exhibition area has also increased by a factor of five; the number of exhibitors has tripled.

Last year at the same location, we unveiled our G 350 in Eastern Europe to tremendous acclaim. This year marks the Russian début of the G 550. We have high hopes for this machine based on its design. Not least for the Russian market. This year as before, our sales staff Peter Herrmanns, Head of International Standard Machine Sales, and Tilo Ußner, Key Account Manager, will be supported by Dr. Peter Igenbergs, whose company ILM acts as the agent for GROB in Russia, together with his sales team.

Russia is still regarded as the market of the future in the region, with good opportunities for growth in the long term, because the need to replace the aging machinery inventories in companies of the area is very urgent. Moreover, the Russian automotive market appears to be recovering from the crisis surprisingly quickly. After months of production cutbacks or stoppages in most plants, the demand for new vehicles has begun to rise again. The state-sponsored scrapping premium, which entered into force two months ago, has certainly contributed significantly to this.

After METAV in Düsseldorf and the Hannover Trade Fair, Metalloobrabotka is the third event in the GROB annual trade fair calendar. Our company will also be represented at two more important machinebuilding exhibitions in the autumn: IMTS in Chicago from September 13 to 18, and AMB in Stuttgart, from September 28 to October 2.
