July 2010 - B. GROB do Brasil is “Best Supplier of the Year”
The first time was in 2008, now for the second time, the Volkswagen group has awarded GROB do Brasil the prestigious accolade of Best Supplier of the Year in the Investment Goods category. The company’s outstanding achievements in supplying a production line for engine blocks to the VW’s Brazilian works have been assessed and the reward duly granted.
On many occasions throughout GROB’s history, customers have bestowed awards on the company for outstanding achievements. Awards, which have repeatedly and in a very special way, acknowledged the successful work of our employees and the quality of our products.
However, the Best Supplier of The Year award has a special place in GROB’s collection of international prizes and honors. This was actually the second time in two years that B. GROB do Brasil has received this tribute from the Volkswagen group. Not only does it recognize the outstanding quality of the work performed by our Brazilian colleagues, but also the highly-rated level of work continuity. “It gives us great pleasure to once again receive from Volkswagen AG the Best Supplier of the Year award,” said Christian Müller, B. GROB do Brasil’s sales director representing the whole team when the award was handed over on 17 July 2010 by VW’s Purchasing Director Alexander Seitz in the presence of VW Brazil board member, Thomas Schmal, and other board members of the VW group. “During such difficult times, an award like this is a great motivation for our employees and gives them the strength they need to successfully overcome the challenges facing South America,” he added.
The Best Supplier of the Year award went to B. GROB do Brasil for outstanding work in the delivery of a production line for the cylinder block for the 4-cylinder EA111. GROB won the award in 2008 for the same line, as the order, spread over four stages, took three years to complete. Now fully installed, the line can produce 1,500 cylinder blocks per day. “We will supply another assembly line to Volkswagen AG this year and of course we will be doing our utmost to ensure that for this ultra-modern line we are awarded Best Supplier of the Year in the Investment Goods category this time for 2010,” said Christian Müller. Christian Grob, GROB’s chief representative, welcomed the achievements: “Here in Mindelheim we are keeping our fingers crossed that it comes off and would like to pass on our congratulations for this huge success.”
