GROB Mindelheim and Siemens AG have agreed a forward-looking partnership deal, which will regulate their joint training activities for the next two years. As a result of this new collaboration, GROB’s customer training division can now call itself a “certified Siemens CNC training partner”.

With over 450 notifications and then no fewer than 570 visitors through the door, GROB’s in-house exhibition in mid-November, following on from the EMO, generated considerable interest. The in-house exhibition marked the end of a successful year in the trade fair cycle. There were many highlights, and in many respects, 2011 was one of the most successful calendar years in the history of the company.

Only 60 days after construction work began, the contours of Mindelheim’s new Hall 9 are becoming ever clearer. The building work is on schedule and the move into the first parts of the hall will have started by the end of the year. Final completion of the first section is planned for the end of March 2012.

The 2011 EMO Award for our non-hydraulic machining center was the high point of our appearance at EMO 2011, which was already exceptionally successful for the company. Between September 19 and 24, over 140,000 visitors representing the industry in 100 countries learned about the latest innovations by GROB at our 1,500 m² trade fair stand. Once again, EMO fully lived up to all expectations and provided further evidence of the excellent outlook for GROB-WERKE.

Building work at the site of the new GROB Group factory in China is two weeks ahead of schedule, evidence of speed with which work is proceeding. The organizational and operational structure is also taking shape surprisingly quickly. GROB Dalian celebrates the halfway point in the project and the German/Chinese planning and performance team celebrates the successful cooperation of the first one hundred days.

At the end of May, GROB successfully showcased their product portfolio simultaneously at two trade fairs: from 23 - 27.05 at the Metalloobrabotka in Moscow and from 23 - 28.05 at the FEIMAFE in Sao Paulo. Mindelheim. GROB, one of the largest employers in the Unterallgäu district of southwestern Bavaria, is rapidly expanding its main production facility in Mindelheim. Extensive building work was completed on the former factory site in 2010 - the existing social building was one part of the works complex, which was completely renovated and extended - and now the underpass beneath the upgraded Allgäuer Strasse is finally coming into operation.

The laying of the foundation stone for GROB’s first Asian production site in the Chinese city of Dalian on 8 April not only marked the start of construction work on our fourth production site, but it also heralded a new era for the company throughout the Asian market.

The newest branch in the GROB sales network, GROB Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd., has relocated to Hyderabad. The company’s fourth base in Asia, after the sales and service branches in Beijing and Shanghai (Peoples’ Republic of China, 2003 and 2005) and GROB’s sales and service branch in Seoul (South Korea, 2005), was initially established in Chennai in 2009. The move within India puts GROB in a geographically more central position and company representatives are now much closer to customers.
