Production of Turbine Housings with GROB
The machining of heat-resistant steel turbine housings places extremely high demands on machine, process and tool. Very often, the machining process for turbine housings from high-strength cast steel is divided between lathes and machining centers.
GROB has developed a motorized spindle with facing slide - an outstanding concept for the complete machining of turbine housings on the G-module. GROB has successfully combined the rigid machine concept of the G-module with experience garnered from the system business to provide manufacturers with a production concept for complex components that is capable of complete machining in two clampings on the machining center (without using a lathe).
