Optimization through a wide range of options
The flexibility of the 5-axis standalone machining centers is further increased by a wide range of options . They predominantly serve for monitoring the tool, for machine and spindle diagnostics and additionally increase productivity and economic efficiency.
The tool holder can be brushed and air blown while in the magazine with the tool cleaning, GROB-patented brush unit parallel to the machining operation. The work area, the fixture and the clamping surface can be cleaned using the air or coolant gun attached to the operator's workstation.
A laser measuring system can be installed in the working area and serves to monitor the tool (tool length and diameter). A mechanical tool breakage control system can also be used which is situated at the transfer point between the spindle and the disc-type tool magazine.
The hand-held controller enables the input of the tool data and the pre-selection of the directions of axis, feed, fast traverse, emergency stop and selection of the axis movement. The tools can be coded by means of a read/write unit installed at the tool insert location. A modem in the electrical cabinet enables the communication of error messages (error diagnosis) by means of remote machine diagnostics.
Automatic vibration and imbalance monitoring, bearing analyses and impact tests (with interaction options) of the spindles can be performed using the integrated electronic diagnostics function.
