Manual loading with a workpiece slide
Workpieces are placed onto the workpiece slide by the operator and then pushed into the clamping fixture. Both single-spindle and two-spindle machines can be loaded very quickly. Manually installed overhead hoists are used as standard for transportation between the machines, which even enable trouble-free loading when a machine needs to be skipped during transportation. Alternatively, transportation can also take place by means of non-powered roller conveyors for manual loading.
The workpiece changer decouples transportation from the loading process, which can take place not only manually, but also via a gantry. It is suitable for both semi-automatic and fully automatic loading. Two machines can be loaded directly in succession by means of the workpiece changer and can be installed opposite to one another to save space.
The Cartesian linear gantry is the most cost-effective standard for fully automatic loading and is therefore also suitable for very large workpiece dimensions. Designed as an I-type or H-type loader, it has one or two vertical axes per carriage. The linear gantry with parallel cinematics in the vertical axis offers the same good performance as the Cartesian linear gantry and can be used in plants with low ceilings due to its low construction height. GROB linear gantries are characterized by their extremely high positioning accuracy.
