Formal announcement of the establishment of GROB Italia
Wednesday, 07. October 2015: Today at the GROB trade fair stand, with representatives of Italian industry and media in attendance, the establishment of GROB Italia s.r.l. with headquarters in Turin was formally announced. It is the ninth GROB sales and service branch worldwide. “Establishment of this company is based on the long partnership with SIMU, our Italian agency, as well as our loyal customers in the automotive and supplier industry”, stated GROB Sales and Marketing Director, Jochen Nahl. “They have all encouraged us to take this strategic step. We are therefore looking forward to this new challenge and the opportunity offered by the founding of GROB Italia”.
Interview with Jochen Nahl on the founding of GROB Italia s.r.l.
Why was GROB Italia founded?
Jochen Nahl. The establishment of GROB Italia shows that our focus is clearly on the universal machine business. Primarily we want to be closer to the market and our customers, while improving the quality of support on the technical side, particularly with regard to service. To do that we need a strong local team.
Why now, in particular, was GROB Italia established?
In recent years we have tried to initially develop our universal machine business, then grow it based on internal strength. Now, with successful universal machine sales in Italy, it is time to take it to the next level, just as GROB has already done successfully worldwide. There are numerous examples, such as in Mexico or England – in nine countries altogether – where we have expanded from small cornerstones.
What are the next steps?
As a result of a long-term cordial relationship with our Italian agency, SIMU has made office space available for GROB Italia. That is the first step. Then management will be assumed by SIMU CEO, Mr. Antonio Goia, in a dual function. He will also support us in the planned expansion of local personnel. Our goal is to build a powerful team within one year.
We are grateful that we can count on the support of SIMU in this particularly important development phase of our sales and service subsidiary.
How is current business in Italy, and what are your expectations for the future?
Based on our new subsidiary, we expect to continue to expand our business. In the past, the system business was quite successful. We are expecting above-average growth in the universal machine segment. However, we understand that we can accomplish this only with substantial support from Mindelheim and good staff, in project development as well.
