OPEN MIND Technologies will provide insight into CAM programming strategies during the GROB Technology Application Events. The technical presentation will focus on a sample of innovations that make direct impact on your productivity – assured tool paths that reduced the need for test cuts, higher production rates and improved part quality. The discussion will include hyperMILL MAXX Machining performance techniques for high performance roughing as well as finishing techniques that can provide up to 90% time savings by applying innovative tool paths that utilize conical barrel cutters.
Other topics include a series of techniques to improve part quality. Smooth overlap techniques bypass some of the physics encountered in machining to obtain improved blends at the junction of adjoining machining areas or machining jobs, even when programmed with different cutters. High-precision mode calculations produce fine surface finish using advanced mathematical techniques, reducing or eliminating faceted surfaces often found during machining.
New rest machining techniques use automated and highly productive combination of parallel and z-level rest machining tool paths into an optimal process. These rest machining tool paths can also be combined with the smooth overlap functions to assure blending with adjacent surface walls.
In addition to postprocessing and simulating computed tool paths, we will be introducing topics related to hyperMILL’s Virtual Machine. Virtual Machine’s revolutionary functions were created to optimize and idealize machine tool movement when delivering programmed toolpath safely to the targeted machine.
