To mark its 100th anniversary, GROB is setting a significant milestone in digital manufacturing. From March 17 to 20, the company will present COSERA, a specially developed MES/MOM system, at its headquarters in Mindelheim. The software acts as a central process control system for the entire production process and combines a century of process experience in an open, highly flexible solution.

A century of GROB stands for precision, innovation, and a deep understanding of processes. Just in time for its in-house exhibition under the motto "100 Years of GROB," the Bavarian machine manufacturer is presenting COSERA, a manufacturing operations management (MOM) system that goes far beyond conventional solutions. COSERA acts as the digital heart of production and enables seamless, real-time control of the entire shop floor.

Transparency through deep integration

A core aspect of COSERA is its direct connection to SAP. The solution uses existing SAP security standards and can be integrated into the existing IT infrastructure without system breaks. For users, this means maximum data security combined with high transparency: All machine and process data is available on mobile devices throughout the plant, which massively reduces response times in production.

"We have poured all our knowledge from 100 years of mechanical engineering and production into COSERA," explains Benedikt Gundling, Product Manager for Digital Products at GROB. "The system is made by practitioners for practitioners. It is already being used successfully by several customers, where it proves every day that it sustainably increases efficiency on the shop floor. With COSERA, we offer our customers a digital process control system that works as precisely and reliably as our machines."

Openness as a strategic advantage

A special feature that distinguishes COSERA from other systems on the market is its openness. The software code can be read and customized by the customer. GROB is thus deliberately breaking with the trend toward closed "black box" systems. Companies can tailor the software to their specific manufacturing processes. Installation takes place directly at the customer's plant, which means that full control over their own production data is maintained.

Thanks to in-depth machine connectivity, not only GROB systems but the entire machine park can be networked across manufacturers. This creates a uniform database for analysis and optimization.

The advantages of COSERA at a glance:

  • Holistic process control system: Central control and monitoring of the entire shop floor.
  • SAP integration: Direct use of SAP security standards and seamless process connection.
  • Individual customizability: Open, readable software code for customer-specific optimizations.
  • Real-time transparency: Immediate availability of all production data, even on mobile devices.
  • Data sovereignty: Installation directly at the customer's plant.
  • Tried and tested: Successful series production at renowned reference customers.

Visitors can see the system's capabilities for themselves live in Mindelheim from March 17 to 20. In addition to COSERA, GROB will be showcasing its entire range of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology at its anniversary event – from the latest 5-axis machining centers and automated production solutions to a wide variety of industry solutions.

With COSERA, GROB is building a bridge between mechanical tradition and the digital future. It is the tool for companies that want to make their manufacturing competitive for the coming years. Secure your ticket now at https://event.grobgroup.com/hausmesse/en/.
