GROB-WERKE is sending a clear signal for the improvement of the infrastructure at the Mindelheim site: The construction of the employee parking garage is progressing according to plan.
GROB-WERKE employee parking garage

With six levels and a total of 1,556 parking spaces, the GROB parking garage will provide significant relief for the currently tense parking situation. In addition, a pedestrian bridge will be built over the B16 federal highway, providing employees with safe and quick access to the plant premises. Construction work began in June last year and is expected to be completed in August.

"We need an average of around 4,000 parking spaces for our employees. The employee parking garage is an important investment for the Mindelheim site and its further development," explains German Wankmiller, Chairman of the Board GROB-WERKE.

Construction progress according to plan

Currently, 70 percent of the steel construction has already been completed. The ceiling work began four weeks ago and is proceeding according to plan. Preparations for the pedestrian bridge have also begun, so that implementation can be guaranteed on schedule. "We are very satisfied with the construction progress so far. Our goal is to provide our employees with a modern and convenient parking facility as quickly as possible," emphasizes German Wankmiller.

The new parking garage not only provides much-needed relief for the parking situation, but also improves employees' everyday working lives. The proximity to the factory premises saves employees valuable time on their way to work.

Future prospects

The completion of the parking garage in August 2025 represents an important milestone for GROB. By expanding the parking space, the company is not only improving the working conditions for its employees, but is also making a contribution to sustainable mobility development at the site. Whether further construction phases will be added in the future depends on the further development of the company.

Strong growth in training too: More opportunities for trainees

GROB is not only investing in the infrastructure at the Mindelheim site, but also in the future of its apprentices and is adding exciting new opportunities to its training program. From now on, apprentices will have the opportunity to volunteer for up to two weeks on an outdoor construction site and gain valuable practical experience in commissioning. "With this offer, we are giving our trainees the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in practice and get to know new areas of work," explains Andreas Jedelhauser, Head of Training at GROB. The exchange with the subsidiaries is also intensified in order to promote the professional and personal skills of the junior staff.

GROB is also sending a strong signal about the importance of training with the investment of around 4.5 million euros in the modernization of the company's own training center, which will take place over a period of three years. "We are creating a state-of-the-art learning environment that offers our trainees the best conditions for a successful start to their careers," says Head of Training Florian Rauch.

At the same time, the number of apprentices is increasing: Following the expansion, 130 apprentices will be taken on each year in the future - a new high, after a record year in 2024 with 108 career starters. With a total of over 30 full-time trainers and part-time skilled persons in the individual areas, GROB ensures practical and well-founded training. In addition, the company now cooperates with six schools to promote talented young people at an early stage. "Our training is not only growing in terms of quantity, but also quality. We want to offer young people an attractive and future-oriented apprenticeship - with the best conditions," summarizes Jedelhauser.
