Sumitomo Electric Industries, known as a leading manufacturer of electrical wire and fiber optic cables as well as a developer and manufacturer of cutting materials, provided the ideal setting for this exclusive presentation. Together with our technology partners Open Mind, NT Tool, and Blum-Novotest, visitors were able to experience innovative solutions and technology up close.
The open house was fully booked with around 40 exclusive participants from 18 companies and offered an excellent opportunity for networking and direct exchange with experts. In addition to Teruo Ogawa, Head of GROB Japan, GROB CSO Christian Müller and Florian Grob were also present. Sumitomo Electric Industries was represented by Managing Director Mr. Sahashi, General Manager of Hardmetal Division Mr. Kimura, and President of Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal Mr. Sawazono.
The event began with a welcome and opening speech by GROB Japan and Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Florian Grob and Mr. Sahashi. This was followed by an introduction to GROB's innovative technology, before guests were given the opportunity to view the G350 5-axis machining center and experience its capabilities live during the production of a wheel suspension. The event concluded with presentations by partners Open Mind (manufacturer of CAD/CAM solutions), NT Tool (manufacturer of tool clamping systems), and Blum-Novotest (manufacturer of measuring and testing technology).
The G350 universal machining center will remain permanently installed in the Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal showroom and will be available for future demonstrations and customer appointments. “We are delighted to have been able to present the G350 and GROB's unique technology to our customers and all interested parties from the conventional machining industry together with Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal. This event impressively demonstrates how innovation and partnership go hand in hand to take manufacturing technology in Japan to a new level,” explained Christian Müller.
With this successful open house, GROB Japan has once again sent a strong signal for technical progress and partnership-based cooperation in the Japanese manufacturing industry.
