Under the motto "100 Years of GROB," the Bavarian machine manufacturer will open its in-house exhibition on March 17, 2026 – and will send a clear signal right from the start: With the new GP1350, the company is presenting a portal machining center that is unique on the market in this size. Trade visitors will have the opportunity to see the machine in action and experience its versatility for themselves – from single parts to large series.

Universal and precise – even with large parts

The GP1350 is designed for the wide variety of manufacturing tasks required by industrial companies today: large components, complex geometries, maximum precision. The GP1350 impresses with generous working ranges in the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis of 1,400 / 1,950 / 1,100 millimeters, which can easily accommodate even large parts. Components with a maximum diameter of 1,400 x 1,100 / 1,750 x 1,600 millimeters can be used to perform tasks reliably, while the machine can be loaded with up to 3.6 tons. The tool magazine is designed for a capacity of up to 408 tools and, thanks to double row allocation, allows ergonomic and efficient setup of several tools at the same time.

With the option of integrating pallet changers, pallet storage systems, and autonomous loading systems (AMR), the GP1350 can be fully automated and is equally suitable for production processes ranging from single parts to large series.

The powerful spindles, robust table, and dynamic axis movements enable the economical task of machining a wide variety of materials. The universal milling head with an undercut of -2.5 degrees significantly reduces setup times and saves valuable production time, while the compact design allows large parts to be manufactured with a minimal footprint – a decisive advantage for modern production lines.

"With the GP1350, we are setting a new standard in portal milling technology. It combines performance, precision, and flexibility in one system and offers our customers a solution that enables them to carry out complex manufacturing tasks efficiently and economically," explains Christian Müller, CSO at GROB.

Versatile fields of application

The GP1350 can be used across a wide range of industries. Whether in the tool and mold industry, energy technology, aerospace, or the automotive industry, the machine allows for the economical production of individual parts as well as large series. The high load-bearing capacity, precise portal structure, and automation options offer users stable processes, reduced scrap rates, and high production reliability.

At the 2026 in-house exhibition, trade visitors will not only be able to experience the GP1350 live, but also consult GROB experts directly about individual manufacturing solutions. GROB is thus making it clear that tomorrow's manufacturing begins today – and the GP1350 is ready to shape this future. GROB will also be showcasing its entire range of universal machining centers at the in-house exhibition – from 4-axis to 5-axis machines – and will be demonstrating the task of machining various parts live.
