"The GMP300 opens up new possibilities for the economical production of aluminum components from a quantity of one," explains Christoph de Pay, Product Manager for Additive Manufacturing at GROB. "Our unique technology combines the advantages of additive manufacturing with the requirements of industrial series production."
Liquid metal printing: Powder-free additive manufacturing
The GMP300 works with aluminum wire instead of powder, thus relying on a safe, clean, and economical manufacturing process. The advantages of the process are obvious:
- No powder processing: No need for complex handling and safety measures.
- High material utilization: Almost 100% of the material is used, minimizing waste.
- Near-net-shape manufacturing: Many geometries can be produced directly, including cavities, lattice structures, or integrated functions.
The machine is suitable for a wide range of industries, such as the automotive industry, aerospace, mechanical engineering, and automation technology, where shorter development times are required, cost pressure is increasing, and resource efficiency is becoming increasingly important.
Maximum flexibility for industrial applications
The GMP300 from GROB impresses with its high flexibility and integrability:
- It can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines.
- Additive manufacturing can be combined with downstream processes such as CNC task, heat treatment, or surface finishing.
Thanks to virtually consistent component costs in sequential production, individual parts with a wide range of variations can be manufactured efficiently, from prototypes to series components.
With the GMP300, we offer our customers a solution for manufacturing metal parts that previously could only be produced economically using additive manufacturing in plastic – or were milled expensively from solid blocks," emphasizes de Pay. "The machine is also a real game changer for the production of durable fixtures, tools, and production aids."
Practical application examples
An impressive example of the capabilities of GMP300 technology is the production of an assembly of aluminum parts required for an automated production line. "Our customer was able to print the parts in a very short time with the GMP300 and significantly reduce downstream costs thanks to the reduced weight made possible by an optimized design," says de Pay.
Experience it live at EMO 2025
At EMO, GROB will be showcasing various applications of GMP technology that would be complex and expensive using conventional methods. Visitors to EMO Hannover can look forward to experiencing the GMP300 live and seeing the speed and quality of additive manufacturing for themselves. GROB experts will be on hand to answer questions and discuss individual solutions for different manufacturing requirements.
