GROB Systems adds a new full-time position and three distribution partners to support U.S. manufacturers planning to invest in 5-axis CNC machines.

The new Regional Manager, Craig Barton, is based near Detroit. Mr. Barton, a graduate of Wayne State University, has more than 20 years of experience in the machine tool industry and has Certified Machine Tool Sales Engineer (CMTSE) credentials from the Association of Manufacturing Technology (AMT).

“I’m excited to be a part of the GROB team because this is a really forward-thinking company. Major changes in the automotive industry are still on the horizon, but GROB is already manufacturing equipment for the future of electric mobility,” Barton said. “And for companies in Michigan, the unique design of GROB 5-axis machines, and the fact that they are built at a factory just 90 minutes away, is an unbeatable combination.”

In Arizona, GROB Systems announces a new partnership with CNC PROS of Phoenix. The company will assume sales and service for the GROB line of 5-axis universal machining centers in that state. “We were really impressed by GROB’s approach to 5-axis machining. The HMC platform, retractable spindle and single-sided trunnion are truly unique,” said Ray Beauregard Jr, founding partner of CNC PROS. “Plus GROB has a great reputation and is building machines right here in the U.S.,” he said.

William Vejnovic, Vice President of Sales at GROB Systems, says he was impressed by CNC PROS experience as a machine tool service provider for a wide range of machines and customers. “CNC PROS has built a solid reputation for fast and dependable customer support. Even with our factory service and parts right here in Ohio, our customers find it reassuring that the local GROB distributor has the know-how to support them before and after the installation.”

Prosper Machine Tool now represents GROB Systems in Texas. Prosper is a family-owned machine tool distributor with a dedicated service team offering installations, warranty work and any needed repairs. “Everyone in manufacturing wants to ensure machine up-time, have a machine sales partner vs. a machine tool salesman, and have a strong backlog of business,” said Greg Kinney, Prosper Machine Tool owner. “We help customers achieve these goals by providing machines that give the highest quality of machined parts so that your customers remain satisfied.”

In Florida, U Tech CNC delivers sales and service for the GROB line of 5-axis universal machining centers. U Tech CNC is a multi-line distributor with a “total solutions approach” to customer support. Free lifetime training classes for all customers is just one part of the U Tech CNC pledge. “It’s our goal to ensure that our Florida customers always have access to the most advanced metalworking technology, strongest service and experienced applications engineering for the best possible competitive advantage,” said Joe Selway, owner of U Tech CNC.

GROB Systems is a family-owned company based in Germany, with North American headquarters and 400,000 sq ft of manufacturing and production in Bluffton, Ohio. This year marks the 10th year that GROB has offered stand-alone 5-axis machines – and larger machining cells – designed for manufacturers in high-precision industries like medical, aerospace, mold & die.
