Among the approximately 2,000 exhibitors from 27 countries, GROB China was also represented and impressed with a trade show presence that effectively combined forward-looking technologies, practical machining solutions, and personal interaction.
At its 255-square-meter booth, the Chinese production plant GROB Machine Tools (China) showcased the capabilities of the entire GROB Group. More than 150,000 visitors – an increase of approximately 22 percent compared to the previous CCMT 2024 – took the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and applications on-site. This strong growth in visitor numbers underscores the importance of the trade show, which has been held in Beijing every other year alongside the CIMT since its inception in 2000 and has since established itself as the internationally recognized leading trade show for the machine tool industry.
Machines, Technologies, and Future-Oriented Skills
The centerpiece of GROB’s trade show presentation was three high-performance machines that showcase the full range of modern manufacturing. With the G320 two-spindle machining center, GROB impressively demonstrated how maximum efficiency and precision can be combined in machining. This was complemented by the G550 5-axis universal machining center, designed for flexible applications and extremely stable components, as well as the G400 4-axis universal machining center with pallet changer, which stands out particularly for its ability to handle a wide variety of production tasks while maintaining maximum productivity.
At the same time, GROB made it clear that modern manufacturing goes far beyond machining: forward-looking solutions for electromobility and digitalization, along with a comprehensive range of services, demonstrated the holistic approach the company takes in supporting its customers. This approach is generating significant interest, particularly in the dynamic Chinese market, where speed and integration are crucial.
The importance of the trade show was also reflected in the high-profile attendees present at the event. In addition to local management, GROB China’s top leadership was represented by CEO Sebastian Klingler. Furthermore, Supervisory Board Chairman Christian Grob and Florian Grob traveled from Germany to attend CCMT in order to meet with customers and partners in person.
A highlight in a spectacular setting
Away from the events at the trade show, a moment awaited the Grob family that went far beyond business. To mark GROB’s 100th anniversary, GROB China CSO Wang Biao surprised the guests with a spectacular display: On the waterfront promenade of the Huangpu River in Shanghai, a large-scale animated projection appeared on the facade of the Citibank Tower Shanghai, conveying congratulations on the company’s anniversary. It was an impressive sight that not only illuminated the city’s skyline but also highlighted the close connection between GROB and the Chinese market.
Local strength as the foundation for sustainable growth
A key factor in GROB’s success in China is its strong local presence. Founded in 2012, the Dalian plant – with a production area of 57,400 m² and over 1,200 employees – has become a central component of the GROB Group. It is here that innovative production and automation solutions are developed, tailored precisely to the needs of the Chinese market. With this consistent “Local for Local” approach, GROB is able to act quickly, flexibly, and on an equal footing with its customers.
A successful trade show appearance with a lasting impact
CCMT 2026 once again demonstrated how important personal presence, technological expertise, and local roots are for sustainable market success. GROB used the stage in Shanghai to showcase precisely these strengths and sent a clear signal of its commitment to further growth in China.
