Within a month, GROB-WERKE has been honored with two special awards for its outstanding achievements in China, its highly important export market. For the third time in a row they have received the “Supplier of the Year Award” from Shanghai General Motors (SGM), and for the first time they have been given the “GP Progressive Partner Award” by FAW-Volkswagen in Changchun.

On the occasion of the conclusion of the Purchasing Working Conference 2015 on January 15th, FAW-Volkswagen recognized GROB-WERKE as one of its ten best suppliers by presenting the prestigious “GP Progressive Partner Award”. For more than twenty years, GROB-WERKE has been working together with FAW-Volkswagen, a joint venture of the Chinese First Automotive Works and Volkswagen AG. In 1995 GROB supplied an extensive production line to FAW VW in Changchun for manufacturing cylinder heads using 5-valve technology, consisting of thirteen interlinked machines. “We’re very proud of this award”, explained Wan Biao, head of the GROB sales and service branch in Shanghai. “This award honors not only today’s high quality, but acknowledges the quality of our collaboration during the past two decades as well”.

On January 23rd, at an event with over 700 invited guests, GROB Chief Representative, Christian Grob received the prize as “ Supplier of the Year” from Shanghai General Motors (SGM) for the third time in a row, presented personally by SGM Executive Director Zhuang Jingxiang. Thus GROB-WERKE has placed into the third-highest SGM award, achieving “Silver status” for the first time. GROB-WERKE has likewise enjoyed a long tradition with SGM. In 1998, 32 machining centers and one transfer line were delivered to SGM. “Receiving the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award is a great honor for us”, stated Ren Hongzhi, Vice-General Manager GROB China. “Designation as best supplier by one of the largest automakers in China not only describes our highly successful collaboration, it also gives a major signal to our company in China!”
