The sales meeting “UM Training Days” at GROB in Bluffton, the “Die & Mold Workshop” at GROB in Dalian, the NORTEC machine tool trade fair in Hamburg during the last week in January all added up to a good start for GROB-WERKE in the new year.

The “UM Training Days” three-day event is an important component of the reorientation in American universal machine sales, and follows the motto “Americas”. Sales and application engineers from Brazil, Mexico and the USA participated in this forum. The objective of the Training Days was to intensify internal information exchange, while providing an opportunity for colleagues in the universal machines area from the three facilities at São Paulo, Brazil, Queretaro, Mexico and Bluffton, USA to get to know one another better. In addition, this informational event enabled the participants to adapt and standardize their level of knowledge with respect to the latest technical developments. Now members of the GROB sales team across the Americas possess the same strong technical foundations for selling GROB universal machines. This sales meeting included new topics such as “Tools with the Technology and Application Center database”, “CAMOS”, “New price sheets” as well as GROB’s innovative production control system, “GROB-NET4Industry”. “All of us were pleased with the results of the UM Training Days”, Christian Müller, President Sales Americas, summarized, “ we succeeded in team building while bringing all participants up to the same high level of knowledge”.

Die & Mold Workshop in Dalian, China
The goal of the GROB Die & Mold Workshop in Dalian, China was to reach out to both current and prospective customers. Of the 50 invited participants, 37 were existing customers. The rest of the attendees came from our partners Heidenhain and Open Mind, but also included members of our Dalian GROB sales team. Mr. Wu Bingshu of the China DIE & MOLD Association gave the opening address of the workshop. Presentation of our extensive product range and their high potential, particularly in the die & mold industry, was well-received by all participants. Likewise, our plant in Dalian impressed the attendees.

NORTEC Machine Tool Trade Fair in Hamburg
For the first time with its own stand, GROB-WERKE made its appearance at the NORTEC in Hamburg during the last week of January, featuring a G350 - Generation 2, the latest innovation in universal machines by GROB. An additional highlight of the trade show was the GROB future-oriented presentation at the VDMA forum “On the way to manufacturing 4.0” regarding the topic “Machine tool manufacturers are meeting the challenges of digitalization”. Once again we were able to impress with the advanced “GROB-NET4Industry” production control system, arousing substantial interest in the product.  On the whole, GROB’s presence at the NORTEC trade show substantially enhanced the company’s profile in northern Germany as well as the related northern European sphere of influence.

Hamburg Trade Fair – Kick-off for future Trade Show Appearances
Once again, the GROB Group will be represented at almost all important machine tool trade fairs around the world in 2016. Following the European fairs in Utrecht, Netherlands and Poznan, Poland, GROB will have a presence at international trade shows, including those in Mexico, China, South Korea and Brazil. The highlights of the trade fair year, the AMB in Stuttgart and IMTS in Chicago, are on the agenda, and to wrap up the season, GROB will appear at fairs in Brno, Czech Republic, Milan and Basel.
