With effect from July 1, 2020, Marcus Ostler was named the new general manager and legal representative, GROB China. As chief executive officer (CEO), he takes over all operational tasks from his predecessor Hongzhi Ren. At the same time, Hongzhi Ren moves to the Supervisory Board of GROB Machine Tools (China), which already includes GROB Supervisory Board Chairman Christian Grob and German Wankmiller, Chairman of the GROB Management Board. This reorganization in management of the location in China is a long-planned generational change in the ongoing strategic realignment of the entire GROB Group.

Marcus Ostler and Hongzhi Ren are GROB veterans

Marcus Ostler joined the company in 1989 and trained as an industrial mechanic in Mindelheim. After holding various positions at the parent plant in Mindelheim, hemoved to GROB China in 2011, where he was instrumental in setting up production as head of manufacturing after opening the production plant in Dalian in 2012. In 2014 he was named chief operation officer (COO) and chief plant officer (CPO) in 2018.

As a man of the first hour, Hongzhi Ren has significantly contributed in over eighteen years to GROB's positive development in China. He helped build GROB China and developed the plant in Dalian with his team into one of the best engineering companies in the country. With his transfer to the Supervisory Board of GROB China, he will continue to contribute his proven expertise to the company.

Strategic course-setting for a successful future

Since its foundation as the fourth production plant of the GROB Group in 2012, GROB China has been manufacturing individual and highly complex systems for the automotive industry and the floor space market - true to the motto "Quality from Germany made in China." With this new management, GROB has set the strategic course for a successful long-term future. Besides Marcus Ostler, CSO Biao Wang, CFO Tao Shen and Thomas Neubert, Vice President Sales, form the management team of GROB China. "We wish our new management all the best and would like to thank Hongzhi Ren for his years of support and commitment in building GROB China," explain Christian Grob and German Wankmiller.
